dFs Community Advisory Committee

The goal of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is to support and strengthen the relationship between dFs and business, industry, educational systems and the community at large.  Committee members increase their knowledge about dFs and provide information and recommendations to our Board and administrators about community needs and opportunities.

The CAC has 10-15 members who represent our community in terms of occupations, geographic location, and an interest in services for people with intellectual disabilities.   Members are formally appointed by our Board of Directors to serve a three year membership on the committee.

Members who served on our committee this fiscal year include from top left: Jim Shaffer, Greg Koch, Verna Martin, Cathy Proctor, Kim Anglin from bottom left: Janet Puhak, Kristen Shearer, Andrea Davidson, Veronica Gardner and Tim Thomas.  Others who served on the committee but are not in the photo are Leanna Graney, Nancy Walker and Marilyn Klemens (chairperson).
           
Over this past year the committee members participated in our three year plan agency planning process by completing surveys about our services.  They also made suggestions about improving our outreach to the community.  One of the suggestions which we implemented was the dFs facebook page.  They have also made recommendations regarding our agency brochure and web page, which we are still updating.  Members of the committee supported our agency by assisting with our agency Reverse Raffle by donating items for the silent auction and purchasing items at the event.
